The most important thing that can be sold on LinkedIn is you, your personal brand. LinkedIn is the open resume of millions and millions of professionals. It is not a spamming network and you should not send unsolicited messages. It is a professional network.
The most important thing that can be sold on LinkedIn is you, your personal brand. LinkedIn is the open resume of millions and millions of professionals. It is not a spamming network and you should not send unsolicited messages. It is a professional network. You have to be scrupulous every time you send an email or a message through the LinkedIn network. You have to be careful as if you were mailing a handwritten letter. You need to select very well who you are contacting and really create a personalized message with your name, your company and the reason why you are writing.
People, users, are on LinkedIn because they want to communicate from a professional point of view. Some may want to receive offers from headhunters to get a better job, others may be looking for an expert investor or venture partner. Others may want references because they are going to open a new market and do not know the Market in question.
For example, you must state clearly if you are an investor, if you are interested in looking for personnel for your new company, if you are an entrepreneur, your past experience, the languages you speak and the languages to use when they write to you.
You can also use the wall to comment on news, but not to sell aggressively as you would on Facebook. You have to be very selective and add value without attaching images of special offers. On LinkedIn, it is assumed that every time you upload content, it is content of great interest that can be recommended for others to read.
Most of the users are managers, entrepreneurs, or executives who will not be interested in any type of message or any type of offer.
Be very scrupulous and very respectful of the unwritten rules of how you write on LinkedIn. Many of the users are also paying a monthly fee for having a Premium category and they have the right to send many more messages without knowing the recipient or having a a 1st-degree Linkedin connection. Nevertheless they do not do it because it usually bothers a lot and it is very easy to be denounced as a Spammer. It is not worth taking the risk of suffering multiple Spammer complaints for simply pressing a button because most likely it will block our account!
